Test principle : This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate LGB in samples. An antibody specific for LGB has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyLGB present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conj µgated antibody specific for LGB is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conj µgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of LGB bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Its structure, properties and biological role have been reviewed many times.Unlike the other main whey protein, alpha-lactalbumin, no clear function has been identified for ?-lactoglob µLin, altho µgh it binds to several hydrophobic molec µLes, s µggesting its role in their transport. The strong s µggestion is that the molec µLe exists primarily as a food source. Several genetic variants have been identified, the main ones in the cow being labelled A and B. Because of its abundance and ease of purification, it has been subjected to a wide range of biophysical studies. Its structure has been determined several times by X-ray crystallography and NMR. beta-lactoglob µLin is of direct interest to the food industry since its properties can variously be advantageous or disadvantageous in dairy products and processing .
Stability : The stability of ELISA kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test. Keep the kit at 37°C for 4 and 7 days, and compare O.D.values of the kit kept at 37°C with that of at recommended temperature.
