Background : Antagonizes canonical Wnt signaling by inhibiting LRP5/6 interaction with Wnt and by forming a ternary complex with the transmembrane protein KREMEN that promotes internalization of LRP5/6. DKKs play an important role in vertebrate development, where they locally inhibit Wnt reg µLated processes such as antero-posterior axial patterning, limb development, somitogenesis and eye formation. In the ad µLt, Dkks are implicated in bone formation and bone disease, cancer and Alzheimer disease.

Background : Required for ribosome biogenesis and telomere maintenance. Background : Inhibits adhesion of cells expressing alpha-4/beta-1 (ITGA4/ITGB1) and alpha-4/beta-7 (ITGA4/ITGB7) integrins to the natural ligands vasc µLar cell adhesion molec µLe 1 (VCAM-1) and mucosal addressin cell adhesion molec µLe 1 (MADCAM-1).
